THEODORE S. SCRIPSACK “TED” (Ret. Capt. CFD), 85, of Cranston, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at RI Hospital in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Rayna (Monaco) Daley. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Stanley and Ann (Devaney) Scripsack.
Ted was a dedicated Cranston firefighter for many years before his retirement. He was also a devoted union member and President of Cranston Firefighters Local 1363. He continued to serve his fellow workers, being employed by the Laborers’ International Union and holding positions on various boards and committees. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He and his wife, along with their friends, enjoyed traveling the U.S. and Europe, with Italy being one of their preferred destinations. He loved New England, and combined with his appreciation for music, they would frequently attend the RI Philharmonic, Concerts Under the Elms, and James Taylor concerts. He loved to go out to eat and to accompany his food with a glass of wine.
Besides his wife Rayna, he was the devoted father of Laurie J. Scripsack, Holly A. Scripsack and Robert A. Scripsack all of Cranston, Seth R. Daley of Providence and the late Teddy and John Scripsack; cherished grandfather of Danielle Casey, T.J. Potenza, Jaquan Scripsack, Stan Scripsack and Valen Scripsack; loving great-grandfather of Patrick and Madison Casey; dear brother of Paula A. Beaton of Glocester and the late Joyce E. Gray; and loving godfather of Cheryl Boyd and Scott Beaton.
His Funeral Service to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held on Thursday, April 13th at 11 a.m. in the Historic Chapel at Swan Point Cemetery, 385 Blackstone Blvd., Providence, followed by entombment.
