Terry L. (Kerr) Zoglio

a remarkable woman whose life was filled with achievements and devotion to her family, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025, at the age of 74, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Nashville, TN, on October 3, 1950, Terry lived a life that exemplified strength, creativity, and dedication.

Her career began at the New England Telephone Company, where she made history as the first female pole/line repair person in Rhode Island. This groundbreaking role paved the way for her to pursue various career paths, including her position as a switchboard operator at South County Hospital. However, her most cherished professional endeavor came when she became the owner of Saks Florist in Wakefield, a business she successfully ran for 19 years. Terry’s floral designs garnered attention and respect in the industry, earning features in several floral magazines, showcasing her artistic flair and dedication to her craft.

Terry's service to her country in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam War reflects her courageous spirit and commitment to community. She was one of the first women to graduate from the National Guard NCO program.

Outside of her professional life, Terry had a passion for painting and pottery, pursuits that allowed her to express her creativity and find joy in the arts. However, her proudest accomplishment remained her family, whom she loved deeply. She is survived by her devoted husband of fifty years, Anthony J. Zoglio, and their two sons: Anthony J. Zoglio, II and his wife Kylie of South Kingstown, and Timothy M. Zoglio and his wife Maribeth of North Kingstown. Terry is also survived by her step-son, Jeff Zoglio and his wife Jill of Groton, CT, brother, Mark D. Kerr of South Kingstown, and sister, Rosemary Bloyd of South Kingstown. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren Gianna, Adela, William, Owen, and Jack, who brought immense joy to her life. Additionally, she leaves behind her beloved dog, Suzie.

Terry’s parents, William W. and Shirley E. (Frost) Kerr, along with her sister, Cynthia Kerr, predeceased her, and their memories remain a cherished part of her family's history.

As we remember Terry L. (Kerr) Zoglio, we celebrate not only her significant contributions to the community and her profession but also her unwavering love for her family and the many lives she touched throughout her journey. She will be dearly missed and remembered with affection.
