TERENCE "TERRY" WILLIAM ASHWORTH
Terence William "Terry "Ashworth, 37, of Narragansett died suddenly on Wednesday, November 11, 2009. He is the beloved father to Charles (8) and Daniel (4) Ashworth of Narragansett. He also leaves a great family including his wife, Meredith ( Slater ) Ashworth, his mother, Barbara ( Cicilline ) DiSanto both of Narragansett, several siblings including the family of Michael and Leslie Ashworth, the family of David and Charlotte Ashworth both of Warwick, Geraldine Ashworth of No. Providence, the family of Kevin and Edie Ashworth of Georgia and the family of Peter and Jody Ashworth of Coventry. Terence leaves behind 18 neices and nephews which include his godchildren, Thomas and Chelsea Ashworth, many aunts and uncles and numerous close cousins. He is the son of the late Gerald Ashworth. He was the son in law of Donald and Mary Slater of MS and the late Jane (Pilkington) Slater of Narragansett. He was the brother in law of Suellen and Renald Langlois and Peter and Mariann Crawford all of So. Kingstown, Donald Slater Jr. of Charlestown, Patricia and Donald Gillery of Esmond and the late Janet Slater of Pascoag. Terry was an active community member as a communicant of St. Thomas More Parish, a former coach/manager with the Narragansett Little League and was currently serving on the Narragansett School Committee and the Town Recreation Board and Health and Wellness Committee. He was also Treasurer of the Town Democratic Committee and a member of the Mettatuxett Improvement Association. Terence has an extensive network of close friends and the community is hit hard by his loss. Mr. Ashworth was a successful local contractor at the time of his death and he formerly served as a counselor and director at Ocean Tides, Narragansett. Mr. Ashworth earned a B.S. in Finance at URI in 1994. He maintains many close friendships with his peers from URI. His death is a tragic loss and he will be fondly remembered by anyone who knew him as one of the nicest guys they ever met. He was a great father, husband, son, brother, uncle, public servant and friend. GOD BLESS!
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 12 Noon in St. Veronica Chapel, Boston Neck Rd., Narragansett and may call at the Nardolillo Funeral Home SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL 1111 Boston Neck Rd (Rt 1A) Narragansett on Sunday 4-8pm. Burial will take place in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ashworth Children's Scholarship Fund, c/o Washington Trust Bank, 885 Boston Neck Rd., Narragansett, RI 02882.
