SUSAN ASSELIN

Susan (Iafrate) Asselin 59, of Lake Garden Drive Cranston passed away Thursday Dec. 13th 2007 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Charles Asselin for 37 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Pasco and Catherine (Giussago) Iafrate. Before her illness, she was the lead secretary in Surgical Pathology at Rhode Island Hospital. Her favorite pastimes included spending time with her family and gardening. Besides her husband Charles she is survived by her loving children, Suzette (Asselin) Patterson and her husband Shawn of Riverside, Michele Asselin and her fiancAC. Bill Mayatte of Pawtucket. She was the devoted sister of Rev. Frank Iafrate and his wife Elizabeth of Smithfield. She was the cherished grandmother of Colette and Audrey Patterson, and the grandmother to be of Sophie Susan Mayatte. She also was the lifelong best friend of Pamela Gaglione of Johnston. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave. Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Rocco's Church Atwood Ave. Johnston. Burial will be in RI Veterans Cemetery Exeter, RI. VISITING HOURS: Monday 6-8 pm.
