Steven J. Richtarik Sr. 87 passed away on Monday at Kent County Hospital. Born in West Warwick, he was son of the late Stefan and Mary (Talasek) Richtarik. Steve is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Cecelia (Tedeschi) Richtarik and their children Karen Kearney, Steven Richtarik Jr. and his wife Kelly, Judy Sherman and her husband Doug, all of Cranston and Joyce McKay and her husband Michael of West Warwick. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Steve was happiest when surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren Sara, Michael, Benjamin, Amanda and Alison. He was also the brother of the late Albin Richtarik. Steve served his country as a proud member of the Air Force during World War II and was a dedicated member of American Legion Post 74 for over 60 years. Upon returning from the war he attended the New England Technical Institute and graduated in 1947. He was an avid Red Sox and URI basketball fan and loved to play cards with his friends. He will be truly missed by all. His funeral will be held on Friday, at 8:45 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Sacred Church, Providence St., West Warwick. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Warwick. VISITING HOURS: Thursday 4-7 pm.
