STEVEN E. MARIANO

48, a lifelong resident of Johnston, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA. He was the beloved husband for 22 years of Susan A. (Higgins) Mariano, RN. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Frank and Francine (Holt) Mariano.

Steven was a former salesman for Sunbeam Bread Company. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Scalabrini Council 3547 where he served as Grand Knight. Steven was also a former District Deputy and Knight of the Year, "State Cook" and NFCA Knights of Columbus Fraternal MVP 2007. He was a Charter Member and past Faithful Navigator of the Arthur Rebello Assembly 2808 and was a former Cub Scout den leader.

Steven had an undeniable passion for life and was at his happiest when spending time with and cooking for his family.

Besides his wife, he was the loving and devoted father of James F. Mariano and Isabella G. Mariano, both at home; dear brother of Frank A. Mariano and his wife Karen and Nancy B. Zincone, all of Warwick; loving uncle of Emma C. Mariano, T.J. Zincone, Andrew F. Zincone and Sarah F. Zincone; loving son-in-law of James and Dorothy Higgins of Smithfield and brother-in-law of Karen and David Clough of Johnston.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, February 9th at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Danielson Pike (Corner Rte.116) North Scituate, and may call at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave. Cranston on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Cardiomyopathy Patient Support Fund, c/o Tufts Medical Center, 800 Washington St., Boston, MA 02111.
