STELLA A. (MARKARIAN) TAKIAN

75, of Hybrid Dr., Cranston, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Kent Hospital in Warwick. She was the beloved wife for 50 years of John K. Takian. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Haig and Mary (Makokian) Markarian.

Stella worked at Brown University for 45 years as a bookkeeper in the Food Services Dept. before retiring. She was a member of Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church; a past member of the church choir; a member of the Ladies' Guild; a past member of the Armenian Youth Federation; and was First Lady of the RI Shriners in 2002.

Besides her husband, she was the devoted mother of Debra Pjojian and her husband Robert of Cranston; loving grandmother of Jason and Eric Pjojian; and dear sister of Arshag "Archie" Markarian and his wife Cathy of North Providence and Haig "Juny" Markarian, Jr. and his wife Maral of Cranston. She is also survived by her uncle, Michael Makokian of Cumberland and her aunt, Sarah Markarian of Providence. She was the devoted and caring aunt of two nieces and five nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Monday, October 1st at 11 a.m. in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, 402 Broadway, Providence, and may call at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Sts. Vartanantz Church Endowment Fund, 402 Broadway, Providence, RI 02909.
