SOPHIE (GEORGANTIS) HOOPIS

84, of Cranston died Sunday January 6, 2008 at Newport Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late George Hoopis. Born in Providence she was the daughter of the late Peter and Helen (Chickneas) Georgantis. Sophie was employed by the State of RI for many years until retiring and was a member of the Daughters of Penelope. She was the devoted mother of Harry G. Hoopis and his fiancAC. Elizabeth Mancini of Jamestown and Peter Hoopis of Cranston, grandmother of Amy Luchka, Geoffrey, Lisa and Jesse Hoopis, great grandmother of four, sister of Irene Cotsoridis of Newport and the late Angie Caruso and George Georgantis. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 9am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave. Cranston followed by services in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church Cranston at 10 am.
