SONIA (SHAPSHAPIAN) ARSLANIAN, 86, of Briggs St., Cranston, RI, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 22, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Ervand Arslanian. Born in Cairo, Egypt, the daughter of the late Vahan and Satenik (Khorozian) Shapshapian, she came to the U.S. in 1977 settling in Queens, NY, moving to Cranston in 1979.
Sonia was a jewelry designer and worked in the jewelry industry before retiring.
She was the devoted mother of Marie Kaian and her husband Levon of Cranston and the late Vartan Arslanian and his wife Susan of Las Vegas; cherished grandmother of seven; loving great-grandmother of seven; and dear sister of the late Shake Arslanian and Hovannes “John” Shapshapian.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 29th at 11 a.m. in Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, Providence, followed by burial at North Burial Ground, Providence. VISITING HOURS are MONDAY MORNING at CHURCH from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to Funeral Service.
