SHIRLEY A. "SHIRL" (LA FLEUR) PIEKARSKI
63, of Coventry, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Cedar Crest Nursing Home in Cranston. Shirl was the wife of John Piekarski. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of Margaret (Cimaglia) LaFleur of Providence and the late Edmund LaFleur.
Besides her husband she is survived by her children; Sheri Barrette-Galanis, daughter-in-law Vickie Galanis, both of Webster, MA, Richard Barrette and Paul Barrette, both of Worcester, MA. Shirl was also the step-mother of Wendie Piekarski and John L. Piekarski, both of Palm Beach, FL. She was the sister of Joan LaFleur-Gannon of North Providence, Elaine LaFleur of West Warwick and the late Edmund H. LaFleur. Her funeral will be held on Monday at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. in SS. John and Paul Church, 341 South Main Street, Coventry. Burial will be in R.I. Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS: Sunday 4:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Ste. 3004, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Warwick, RI 02886.
