Sgt. Adam S. DeCiccio

37, of Cranston, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 5, 2020. Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of Dawn (DiCenso) DeCiccio of Warwick and the late Jeffrey J. DeCiccio. He is also survived by his son Gunner, whom he cherished; his loving fiancé Tayla Inderlin of Cranston; his dear brothers, Mark DeCiccio, his wife Brooke, their children Ace and Capri of Cranston; Alex DeCiccio, his wife Heather and their children Greyson and Sawyer of Warwick; and his devoted aunts, Beth Tasca and Donna Loranger.

Adam was a Sergeant in the United States Army, 10th Mountain Division, 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry (2/22). He was a highly decorated veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom (’03-’04) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (’05-’06). His actions during service earned him many honors, including three Army Commendation Medals.

After his military service, he received his bachelor’s degree from Johnson & Wales University, and his master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health & Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling from Salve Regina University in May 2019. He was nominated and selected to deliver the keynote speech for the Graduate Commencement Ceremony.

Adam always continued his work with veterans, most recently as a Health Science Specialist for the Providence V.A. Medical Center. He was also a Veterans Service Officer for the VFW, continuing his civilian service by helping veterans obtain benefits. Adam was a member of the Kelley Gazzerro VFW Post 2812. His countless selfless acts of kindness to his fellow veterans were the foundation of his character, and how he chose to live his life of service.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 12th at 10:00am in St. Kevin's Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick. SEATING WILL BE LIMITED. A livestream of his Mass will be shown via the Nardolillo Funeral Home Facebook page: www.Facebook.com/nardolillofh . Masks are required and social distancing will be observed. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Burial with military honors will be private.
