41, of Johnston, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. He was the loving and devoted husband of Kou (Zonen) Dorley of Johnston, RI. Born in Monrovia, Liberia, he was the beloved son of Miatta Dorley and also Hawa Vincent. Sgt Dorley was a Providence Police Officer for the past 15 years, previously serving as a Providence Reserve Officer and Correctional Officer at the ACI. He was the loving father of Amanda Dorley and Robert Dorley; brother of Haya Kollie- Cummings, Thelma Nah, Sangai Dorley-Cuffey, Hawa Scott, Lori Meadows, Miatta Gul, Saikon Gbehan, Phillip Musa, Emmanuel Gul and John Dunbar; brother in law of Saye Zonen. He was the nephew of Gabriel Amo, Rojata Turay-Kanneh,Victoria Dorley, Hawa Carter, Fatu Dorley Holt, Othello Deshield and Siatta Dorley Harmon; and the late Elizabeth Dunbar, Zinnah Johnson, Soko Dorley, Peter Vincent and Seh Vincent; grandson of Musu Musa; and son in law of Esther Paye.
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, God-children, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Friday
at 10 a.m. in the Cathedral of Saints Peter & Paul, One Cathedral Square, Providence, RI.
Burial will take place at Eternal Hills Memory Garden in Snellville, Georgia.
Visiting hours are Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave. Cranston, RI, FOLLOWED BY TRIBUTES from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
