SESAK H. "SAL" VARTIAN, 77, of Rhode Island St., Cranston, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2007 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband for 37 years of Margaret A. "Peggy" (Powers) Vartian.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Harry P. "Hamazasb" and Vartouhi "Rose" (Aramian) Vartian, he resided in Cranston for many years. He was the owner of Vartian Home Improvements for 50 years, and later during his retirement years, he worked at Contempo Card, Inc. in Providence.
Mr. Vartian served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member of the Elks and American Legion.
Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of John M. Porter and his wife Charlotte of Cranston, Margaret "Peggy" Burns and her husband Robert of North Providence, Kathleen A. Minicucci and her husband Stephen of Johnston, and the late Raymond T. Porter; loving grandfather of Michelle A. Minicucci and Stephen J. Minicucci, II; dear brother of Catherine Albanese and her husband Richard of Cranston, and the late Ann Bedrosian and infant Paul Vartian; loving uncle of Lynne Markarian, Laura J. Albanese, Julie Colangelo, Roseann Reo, and the late Sherry Micheletti; and dear nephew of Manoog Vartian and the late Edward Vartian. He was also the loving uncle to many great-nieces and great nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, Broadway, Providence, and may call at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Tuesday 4-8 p.m.
Burial will be private.
