Sara (Dardaghanian) Kazarian

Sara Kazarian, 92, of Providence Rhode Island passed away on May 25,
2020 due to covid complications. Sara was the beloved mother and
inspiration to Diane Kazarian of Toronto Canada, loving
mother-in-law to Ross Sinclair and beloved grandmother to Jack and
Audrey who she adored.  She is survived by her three beautiful
sisters Arpine Sevajian, Alice Mashikian, and Anahid Manoukian and
their families of Los Angeles.

Sara deeply touched the lives of many people and those who were
tremendously important to her in these past many years  including
beloved cousins Araxie and Ara Kazarian and deceased  Gregory and
Crosby Kazarian, her dear friend and loving companion Vivian
Yeretzian  with whom she lived for 10 years after her husband’s
passing,  Rita and Dan Marcotte, Peter Yeretzian, Lisa Vitacca,
Lou-Ann  Porter, Anahid and Sue Ayrassian, Sonja and Armen Janigian
and their family, and beloved cousins  Stephanie and Mark Kazarian and
their daughters Dana and  Rachael as well as cousins Pete, Richard and Leo Kazarian. In particular Sara loved Stephanie who is an angel
and who helped care for Sara these past few years and always looked
forward to her fun and caring visits at Capitol Ridge.

Sara came to the United States in her early 20s from a Beirut ,
Lebanon  where she studied operatic voice at New England Conservatory
on a full scholarship. It was there that she met her future husband
Hrach Kazarian and they shortly married thereafter. She was a gifted
Lyric Soprano and she auditioned for the Metropolitan Opera and was
accepted but then decided to devote her life to her only child Diane
and to her husband. For many years she’s proudly served the altar as
the choir director at Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church
and later joined the congregation of The Armenian Evangelical Church; and was a senior member of the Daughters of Vartan.
She also supported her husband in their family business for many years
while she was raising Diane.

Sara was an unselfish woman. She had a beautiful heart and smile and
was kind, wise, courageous, strong, perceptive, and always
thought of others before herself. She had a vast and profound impact
on many people and she will be sorely missed by many. May god rest her
soul.

Diane would like to also thank the staff at Capitol Ridge in particular JoLine for caring for Sara as well as Natee a most amazing
and special covid nurse at Oak Hill Nursing in Pawtucket for her deep compassion and care for Sara over these past difficult 5 days.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 70 Jefferson St., Providence, RI 02908.

Her funeral service and interment at North Burial Ground will be private.
