69, of Soprano Circle, Cranston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family after a six year courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife for the past 44 years of Anthony P. Grossi, Sr. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Peter DiDomenico and Claire (Polselli) Vierra and was also the cherished niece of the late Assunta DiDomenico.
Sandra was very proud to have been born and raised on Federal Hill. She always had fond memories of those she grew up with and continued to see throughout her life. After graduating from Mount Pleasant High School in 1965, she went on to work for the Rhode Island Superior Court, Rhode Island Traffic Court, and up to her retirement, Medical Records for the Cranston Community Action Program. Sandra touched many lives. Those who know her will continue to remember her smile, her endless love for her family, her amazing cooking, and the big heart that God blessed her with. She was an avid Yankees fan and also enjoyed vacationing in New Hampshire and Florida with her family. In addition to her loving family, she had been blessed with great friends that she loved so very much in her life that never left her side until the very end.
Besides her husband Anthony, Sandra is survived by her loving children, Anthony P. Grossi, Jr. and his wife Melissa of Seekonk, MA and Lisa M. (Grossi) Faella and her husband Anthony of Cranston. She was the cherished grandmother of Alysha, Joey, Brittney, Joshua and Anthony Jr. Sandra also leaves behind two sisters and three brothers.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Thursday at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
