Salvatore DiSpirito
Salvatore DiSpirito, 76, of Cranston, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband for 50 years of Barbara (Maggiacomo) DiSpirito.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Salvatore and Nellie (Pontarelli) DeSpirito, he moved to Cranston in 1958.
Mr. DiSpirito was a hairstylist for the past 46 years and was the former owner of Cutting Club Hair Salon in Providence, retiring in 2000. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of D.A.V. and National Hairdressing Association.
Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of Steven DiSpirito and his wife Karen of Cumberland and Kevin DiSpirito and his wife Kristin of Cranston; loving grandfather of Hailey, Steven, Cameron, Julia, Matthew and Gianna DiSpirito; loving son-in-law of Joseph Maggiacomo of Cranston and the late Margaret Maggiacomo; and dear brother of Ida DeSpirito and Anthony DeSpirito, both of Cranston, Alfred DiSpirito of Warwick, Joseph DeSpirito of Coventry and the late Julio DeSpirito and Anna Acciardo.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Cranston St., Cranston at 10:00 a.m.
Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
