Salvatore J. Criscione

88, of Warwick, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, October 30, 2021.  He was the cherished husband of Carolyn (Zoglio) Criscione for 62 years.  One of 13 children, he was born to the late Emanuele and Concetta (Cintolo) Criscione.

Besides his wife, Carolyn, he is survived by his loving children, Dawn Arpin and her husband, James of Cumberland and Steven Criscione of Warwick.   Salvatore was predeceased by his daughter, Sandra Cannella.  He was a devoted and loving grandfather to Domenico (Nico) Cannella, Tiana Cannella, and Lauren Arpin.  He was the brother of John Criscione of Coventry, Yolanda Criscione of Warwick, Emanuela Iacono of Warren, Emanuele Criscione of Cranston, Joseph Criscione of West Warwick, Marianna Criscione of Providence, and the late Marianna Criscione, Joseph Criscione, Rosa Pompei, Sadie Andreozzi, Concetta Criscione, and Elena Dolan.

After serving in the United States Army during the Korean War, Salvatore earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master of Business Administration degrees from Bryant University.  He was employed by the Federal Government for 40 years, primarily as an Internal Revenue Service agent.  For a time, he was a member of the Federal Strike Force, targeting organized crime.  Additionally, he was an instructor in the Lambers CPA Review, teaching federal income taxes, and was an adjunct faculty member at Roger Williams University. Upon his retirement from the Internal Revenue Service, he managed the Federal Employees Credit Union.

A devout Roman Catholic, Salvatore was a commentator at Saints John and Paul’s Church in Coventry, to which he belonged for 52 years, before moving to Warwick.  He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and the Grand Knight of Hope Council, as well as a District Deputy.

Although he enjoyed traveling, his greatest joy was his family.

His funeral will be held on Friday, Nov.5th at 8:45 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Rd. Warwick.  Burial with military honors will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, 73 Church St., Cranston.  VISITING HOURS:  THURSDAY 4:00—7:00 P.M.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Salvatore’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 100 Dept. 142, Memphis, Tn 38148 will be appreciated.
