Russell "Jake" Salisbury, Ret. PFD

77, of Attleboro, MA, formerly of Johnston, RI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at HopeHealth Hospice, Providence. Beloved husband of Donna J. (Kennelly) Salisbury, Russell was born in Providence, to the late Russell and Barbara (Sullivan) Salisbury.

A veteran of the US Army 1st Infantry Division serving in the Vietnam War, Russell was a career firefighter with the Providence Fire Department, retiring as Lieutenant. In retirement, Russell filled his days and his heart enjoying time with family. He attended countless youth sports, dance, and theater events watching his beloved grandchildren do what they love. Russell was an avid golfer, sports enthusiast, loved visiting beaches up and down the east coast, and was a vault of random facts about everything.

Besides his wife Donna, he is survived by his loving daughters, Bridget Hueston of North Smithfield, Julie Tripodi and her husband Eric of Marlborough, MA; cherished grandchildren, Abigail, Logan, Caroline, Avery and Reese; dear siblings, Nancy Lindsey, James Salisbury and William Salisbury. He was loved by his many nieces, nephews, and many other extended family members.

His funeral service will be held in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 11:30am. Burial with military honors will follow in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS will be held on Tuesday morning from 9:30 – 11:30am.
