66, formerly of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Friday December 21, 2007 after a lengthy illness surrounded by family and friends. Born in Providence on February 4, 1941, Russell was the beloved first born child of the late John C. and Etta (Morena) Carello. A 1958 graduate of Hope High School and a member of the US Army, Russell was self employed most of his life as a Professional Thoroughbred Horse Trainer and long haul truck driver. He was also an avid bowler, having bowled a perfect game prior to the debilitating stroke he experienced on Christmas Day at the age of 59. He was the father of Carrie Jean Fowler and Russell Carello both of MA. Two Sisters: Barbara Kendzior of Meriden, CT and Port St. Lucie, FL and Mari Carello-Bigner of Jackman, ME. 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandson: two nieces and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Jackie Nordin his beloved long time companion will miss him dearly. Russell was previously married to Grace (Walsh) Carello of Worcester, MA, the mother of his children. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Avenue Cranston on Friday at 9:00am followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Mary's Church Cranston Street, Cranston at 10:00am. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
