RUPEN TARAKSIAN
RUPEN TARAKSIAN, 82, of Pendleton St., Cranston, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at RI Hospital in Providence. He was the beloved husband for 62 years of Cacilia Ponkiv.
Born in Athens Greece, a son of the late Hagop and Nuric (Arabian) Taraksian he came to the U.S. in 1950 settling in Providence, before moving to Cranston in 1964.
Mr. Taraksian was a machinist at Brown & Sharpe Mfg. Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1983.
Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of Marie Bouchard and her husband Frank, Hagop "Jake" Taraksian and his wife Christine, and Rupen "Michael" Taraksian, all of Cranston; dear brother of Hayrapet Taraksian and his wife Cohar of Cranston and the late Nubar and Misak Taraksian; loving grandfather of 4 and loving great-grandfather of 4.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service Saturday at 10 a.m. in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, Providence, and may call at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Friday 4-8 p.m.
Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, 402 Broadway, Providence, RI 02909.
