Rose Michael, 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 24. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Michael Sr.. They were married nearly 50 years before his untimely passing. She was the daughter of the late Emily (Zampell) Marcello and Michael Marcello.
She was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, and friend. She was born in Providence, RI and spent most of her life there except for a brief time when her husband and family lived in California and Nevada, a time she greatly treasured and enjoyed.
She is survived by her loving children Joseph J. Michael Jr. and his wife Barbara (Boschetti) Michael of Cranston, Stephen R. Michael of Cranston, and Lynne (Michael) Diamante and her husband Dr. Giulio Diamante of Cranston. She is also survived by her grandson Joseph Carmine Michael, and her granddaughter Giulia Lynne Diamante, both whom she adored, and her grand-dog Gucci, who brought her great joy, comfort, and cuddles until her very last moments.
Rose was a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing beautiful meals for her family, especially on holidays. Friends and family would gather for special occasions and enjoy her welcoming home and delicious cooking. She was also a hairstylist and loved doing hair. She was an accomplished pianist and loved to play often. She also had a green thumb and tended to beautiful gardens, especially her roses, peonies, and poppies in her yard.
She was an avid traveler and enjoyed many trips with her husband and family during her lifetime. In the 1970’s and 1980’s Rose and her late husband took extended cruise voyages throughout many parts of the world, spending weeks at a time traveling with their children.
She enjoyed summers in Plum Beach at the lovely home her late husband built. She was a great seaside enthusiast and enjoyed watching boats, walking the beach and relaxing by the shore.
She had a fulfilling and beautiful life even though she missed her late husband dearly. She was always thinking of others and would never hesitate to lend a hand. She was a truly wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her.
