Rose (Shenian) Alahverdian

of Cranston and Narragansett, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 25, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.  She was the beloved wife of the late Harry Alahverdian.  Born in Whitinsville, MA, she was the daughter of the late Haigaz and Aznive (Sogoian) Shenian.

Rose was a high honor 1942 graduate of Northbridge High School. She was a former employee of both Whitin Machine Works and later of the Providence Base Plant-Division of General Electric Company. She was a communicant of Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church in Providence; was a past member of Cranston School PTA, Cranston Senior Citizens and past member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

Rose is survived by her cherished children, her daughter Lisa A. Johnson and her husband Clifton and her son Harry Alahverdian and his wife Karen; and her beloved grandson Haigaz Alahverdian. She leaves a sister Agnes Muradian; a niece Alice McMasters; sisters-in law Joyce and Margaret Shenian; and also a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. She was the sister of the late Lillian Ballard and her husband Herve, Dr. Popkin Shenian and Kenneth G. Shenian; and was the sister-in law of the late Oscar Muradian; and aunt of the late Edward Alemian and Susan Shenian.

VISITING HOURS are FRIDAY MORNING, February 1st from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, followed by a Funeral Service at 11a.m. Burial will be at North Burial Ground Providence.
