ROSARIO 'ROY' BADESSA

80, of Cranston passed away Wednesday December 21st. Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of the late Rosario "Charlie" Badessa and Dora (Nardolillo) Badessa. Roy was a proud army veteran of the Korean War. He was the founder and president of Central Auto Body and Sales Inc. in Providence until his retirement as well as a founding member of the Alpine Country Club and the Santa Maria di Prata Club, both in Cranston. He was also a proud member of the St. Mary's Feast Society, also in Cranston. Roy had a zest for life and lived every moment to the fullest. He was the proud creator of the "Badessa Special" with a keen ability to make people laugh, even in difficult times. He loved music, especially Frank Sinatra, and was well travelled. He loved to read, learn about history, and watch his favorite sporting events. But above all, his true passion was his family. Roy was most proud of his four children: his daughter Paula (Badessa) Kriticos of Scituate, wife of Dimitri Kriticos, his sons Gary and Glen Badessa of Cranston, and the late Gail Badessa, his eldest child. He will also be greatly missed by three of his favorite people in the world, his grandchildren Kryssa, Aria and Andreas Kriticos. He is survived by his brother Joseph Badessa of Cranston and his sister Marie Bossian of East Greenwich. He was also the brother of the late Etta Salvatore, Pauline Romano, John "Jiggy" Badessa, and Richard Badessa. He was also blessed with so many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Gail Badessa Memorial Fund, c/o Spurwink RI, 1 Spurwink Place, Cranston, RI 02910. Visiting Hours are Private. Family and Friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Church, Cranston Street, Cranston, RI. Interment with military honors will take place in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
