Ronald “Ron” Henry Ferro, 72, of Warwick, RI, died after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI on August 15, 2021.
Born in Providence, RI, Ron served in the Rhode Island Air National Guard during the Vietnam era. As a staff sergeant, he was proud to maintain military aircraft. Through his life, he always enjoyed airplanes, and spent hours flying various simulator aircraft to airports all over the country.
He was a graduate of New England Institute of Technology, and worked in the jewelry manufacturing business for many years. In the later part of his life, he reinvented himself, and worked as a title examiner. He loved visiting town halls all over Rhode Island and New England, and liked meeting many city and town hall employees. His favorite working trip was flying to Block Island, recording a sale, and flying back again the same day.
Ron enjoyed growing and preserving jalapeño peppers, took pleasure in going to Laconia, NH on his motorcycle every year, and loved his pets, especially Dusty and Ashley.
Ron was the son of the late Frank Ferro and Nancy (DiZazzo) Ferro of Cranston, RI. He was the beloved husband of Jennifer Garrahan-Ferro of Warwick, RI, the loving father of Christine (Michael) Scheidel of Burlington, CT and Jennifer (Mark) Corriveau of Smithfield, RI, and proud grandfather of Benjamin, Natalie, Rachel and Joseph. He also leaves dear brothers John (Angelina) Ferro and Frank A. (Kathy) Ferro, both of Cranston, RI, and nephews and cousins near and far that he always kept close to his heart.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday morning from 9:30-11:00 am at the Nardolillo Funeral Home,1278 Park Ave, Cranston, RI, followed by a Catholic funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will take place in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston, RI.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a local cat or animal shelter of your choice.
