Ronald Raffonelli, 83, of Johnston, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2023 surrounded by family, with his favorite country music playing in the background.
Known for his ever-present cowboy boots and western shirts and accessories, Ron worked hard throughout his life, pouring concrete and building swimming pools with his company, R&J Construction. He owned numerous horses over the years, competing as a barrel racer and leading parades in his younger years, and camping with his horse and family later on. He was proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He leaves behind his devoted family: wife Judith (Champlin) Raffonelli, daughters Lisa Raffonelli and Debra Brown, son-in-law Keith Brown, and beloved granddaughters Kelsey and Hailey Brown.
Born in Providence, RI, son of the late Mario Raffonelli and Emily (Ciarlo) Conca, stepson of the late Alexander Conca, brother of the late Jean Capparelli, he is survived by his sisters Phyllis Cerio and Ileen Szelka, uncle Gerald “Sonny” Ciarlo, and extended family and dear friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, October 20 from 4-6pm with a service immediately following at Nardolillo Funeral Home, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, RI; burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to the RI Chapter of the American Red Cross.
