August 16, 1937 — January 30, 2022

Rocco P. DiIorio

84, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Mary (Giansanti) DiIorio. He was the cherished father of Diane Bessette (Robert) and Karen DiIorio. He was the treasured Papa of Tatiana, Fernando, Sofia, and Amanda, and the great grandfather of Jackson. Rocco was the beloved brother of Anthony DiIorio (Valerie) and the late Pauline Petracca. He was the longtime companion of Carole Lindsley, and was loved by her daughters Barbara and Chris and grandchildren Ryan and Sean. Rocco will also be missed by his former wife, Catherine (Zompa) DiIorio.

Rocco had a lifelong love of music. He was a professional trumpet player in his early years and continued to play throughout his life for his family’s enjoyment. He proudly brought Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops Orchestra to Providence for a truly memorable night. Rocco also greatly enjoyed playing golf and boating.

Rocco and his brother were the proud co-owners of Henry A. Evers Corporation, an industrial engraving business in Providence, for many decades, until his retirement to Florida. He began as an apprentice at the company during his 20’s and then purchased the business with his brother in 1985. Rocco was the former President and Treasurer of the Port Royale Master Association, Fort Lauderdale, Florida and formerly a member of the Alpine Country Club, Aurora Civic Association, Lions Club, and Italo-American Club of Rhode Island.

Rocco loved his family immensely, and we loved him back with all our heart. He will be missed beyond measure.
