ROCCO "ROCKY" COLETTA

83, of Providence, passed away on Wednesday March 16, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Virginia (Viscolosi) Coletta. He was born in Providence, the son of the late Bernardo and Antonetta (Iasa) Coletta. Mr. Coletta worked at Leesona Corporation, and was in charge of their Internal Transportation. Rocky was a cook at Mt. Pleasant Poultry, LaSalle Bakery, and Warwick Neck General and was famous for his "Rocky's Chicken Pie." He was also a WW II Navy SeaBee veteran. Besides his wife Virginia he is survived by his loving children, Lawrence D. Coletta and his wife Jane of Warwick, Doreen Ann Romano and her husband Arnold of Smithfield and David S. Coletta and his wife Bonnie of Greenville. He was also the grandfather of Jeffrey, Jennifer, Lauren, Jenell, Stephany, Beth Ann, Ashley and was the cherished great grandfather of 4. Rocky is also survived by his sister, Olga Pezza of North Providence, and was the brother of the late Vincent and Anthony Coletta and Lena Maselli. His funeral will be held on Monday at 9 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave. , Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Thomas Church Fruit Hill Ave., Providence. Burial with military honors will take place in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Sunday 4-8 pm.
