Roberta Bridget (Lombardi) Taraian

Roberta Bridget (Lombardi) Taraian, 89, of Barrington, RI, entered eternal rest surrounded by her loving family on August 23rd.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Peter, and their four sons; Peter and wife Kathleen, David and wife Lynette, Gary and wife Sonya, and Mikel and wife Lisa. She leaves a sister, Eleanor Medici, sister-in-law Joan Lombardi, and is predeceased by her sister Ann Bonetti, and brother Joseph Lombardi. She also leaves seven cherished grandchildren; Michelle and her husband Colby, Peter Jr., Rachel, Sam, Harrison, Gary Jr., and Zachary.

Born to Mary and Ernest Lombardi of Central Falls, Roberta attended the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary convent in Fitchburg, MA where she became a postulant.

Later married in 1958, she devoted her life to caring, supporting and raising her family. A devoted and wonderful wife, her greatest role was as a doting Gram to her grandchildren. She truly cherished every minute spent with each of them.

She loved holidays and family gatherings—especially at her home in Barrington—where no detail was too small, and was committed to making every event special and memorable. She also loved planting and tending her garden with lots of impatiens.

She enjoyed family vacations on Cape Cod, especially in Chatham, her trips to Florida with her husband Peter and many years with dear friends at the Pawtucket Country Club.

She will be missed, but forever remembered as an incredible wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Visiting hours to which relatives and friends are invited will be held on Tuesday, August 29th from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 70 Jefferson St., Providence, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
