Robert A. Schanck

62, of Narragansett, passed away unexpectedly on October 3, 2019

Born in Glen Cove, NY, he was a son of the late Donald E. and Agnes C. (Becht) Schanck.

Robert had most recently worked as a chef on Block Island, and was previously owner of the Hungry Tiger restaurant in Plymouth, MA and The Inn at New Berlin, PA.

He was an avid sports fan, civil war enthusiast and enjoyed the beach.  Bob had a great sense of humor and made everyone laugh with his jokes and impressions of several famous movie stars. Due to his many years of cooking, he was affectionately known to his friends and family as SpongeBob.

He is survived by his three children, Cassandra, Philip and Jason Schanck; and his five siblings, Donald S. Schanck, Carolyn A. Rehm, Joanne Rex, Diane R. Traube and Marie E. Hatfield.

Private services will be held at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1 State Street, #200, Providence, RI 02908.
