Robert R. "Bob" Ruggieri

ROBERT R. “BOB” RUGGIERI, 86, of Cranston, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022.  He was the beloved husband for 61 years of Grace A. (Bastardi) Ruggieri.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Francis and Harriet (Clark) Ruggieri.

To select just one word to represent the life of Bob Ruggieri it would be EXCEPTIONAL.  Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Uncle, Friend.  Bob set the bar for parenting by example.  He was always there for his wife and daughters. He was their rock.  Bob was so proud of his family…you could watch him… watching them.  He was content to sit back with that little smile that was always on his face as if he was watching the best moments in his life.

One often says, you can measure success of a person’s life….by the number of people whose life is better for having known them.  By that yardstick, his journey on this earth was spectacular.

There were probably as many people waiting eagerly to greet him in Heaven as there were people here broken hearted to have to say goodbye.  Bob is going to keep watching his wife, his children and their children and loving them all with every fiber of his being. That’s who Bob was and who you are doesn’t change when you go to Heaven.

Besides his wife Grace, Bob was the devoted father of Cathy Beaudoin and her husband Peter, Sharon Tilton and her husband David and Robin Blackburn and her husband Michael; cherished grandfather of eight and the late Abbey Tilton; loving great-grandfather of seven; and dear brother of the late Anthony, Frank and Raymond Ruggieri.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, February 11th at 11 a.m. in Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Rd., Cranston.  Visiting hours are Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston (Masks are Required).
