81, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024, surrounded by his beloved wife of 55 years, Loretta (Romano), and their family. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Amedeo and Rose (DeJoseph) Mignanelli. He is survived by his loving children: David Mignanelli of Cranston, Michael Mignanelli and his wife Gertrude of Coventry, and Lisa Padula and her husband Stephen of Coventry; as well as 10 cherished grandchildren: Nicole, Megan, Kyle, Brian, Zachary, Michael, Logan, Tyler, Samantha, and Sophia. He is also survived by his dear sister, Carol Alexandre of Cranston.
Robert had the biggest heart, always putting his family first and sharing his love, generosity, and kindness with everyone around him. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, often attending their sporting events and special occasions. He was always ready to lend a hand with projects, big or small, and to offer his expertise in fixing anything that needed attention.
Robert was a U.S. Navy Veteran who proudly served on the USS Shangri-La during the Vietnam War era. A talented and dedicated craftsman, Robert worked as a union cabinet maker at L Vaughn and Monarch Industries, proudly serving the Local 94 Carpenters Union in Rhode Island for many years. His skills and commitment to his craft were admired by all who knew him.
Robert’s love, kindness, and selflessness will never be forgotten. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, family devotion, and a heart full of love. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Foundation of Rhode Island.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Thursday, December 19th at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Apostles Church, Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are Wednesday, December 18th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
