ROBERT L MATHIEU, SR

73, of Isabelle Dr., Narragansett, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at South County Hospital, Wakefield. He was the husband of Lois A. (Parkinson) Mathieu for the past 50 years. He was born in Pawtucket a son of the late Alphonse and Loretta (Chaput) Mathieu and had resided in Narragansett for the past 45 years. He was employed as a mechanic for many years and after which was employed in the maintenance department at South County Hospital for 13 years, retiring in 2007. He was a Navy veteran during peacetime. His favorite pastimes were woodworking and gardening. Besides his wife he is survived by his sons, Robert L. Mathieu, Jr. and his wife Marie of Wakefield and Timothy A. Mathieu and his wife Tammy of CA. He was the grandfather of Seamus and Liam Mathieu and brother of Rita Quetta of No. Providence, Ellen Prete of Lincoln, Ann Marie Martin of Attleboro, Ramon Mathieu of VT, Alphonse Mathieu of Narragansett, Richard Mathieu of Loudon, TN and the late Doris Depatie, Lucille Poisson, Constance Macogni Colbert.

His funeral will be held on Friday at 9am from the Nardolillo Funeral Home SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Rd. ( Rt. 1A) Narragansett, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Veronica Chapel, Boston Neck Rd., Narragansett at 10am. Interment will take place in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS Thursday 4-7pm. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to South County Hospital Infusion Unit, 70 Kenyon Ave., Wakefield, RI in Robert L. Mathieu, Sr. name.
