Robert A. Marsland

92, of Providence passed away peacefully on Friday, September 29, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.  He was the beloved husband of Diana G. (Rezza) Marsland for seventy-three years.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late James, Sr. and Beatrice (Lamont) Marsland.

He was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War.

Mr. Marsland received a bachelor’s degree from the RI School of Design and his master’s degree from Roger Williams University. He was a mechanical engineer and after his retirement he founded his own company RAMEC, Inc. in North Kingstown.  He was a longtime member of the Tri-City Elks Lodge #14.

Besides his wife, he leaves two children, Alan R. Marsland of Exeter and Anne Marie Gizzarelli and her husband Robert of Exeter; and a granddaughter, Serena Gizzarelli.  He was the brother of the late James, Jr., Arthur, Gerald and Donald Marsland.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 10am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Mary Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston.  Burial will be private. VISITATION Wednesday morning from 9-10am.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association of RI, 345 Waterman Street, #306, Providence, RI 02906 or to Hope Health Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
