82, of Brookwood Road, Warwick died Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Kent County Hospital, Warwick. He was the husband of the late Jane (Daniels) Dardeen. Born in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, he was a son of the late Frank and Leona (Stewart) Dardeen. Mr. Dardeen worked for the former Narragansett Brewery in the machine maintenance department for over 26 years. He was a US Navy veteran serving as a corpsman during WW II aboard the USS Denver, USS Columbia and the USS Missouri from 1942 to 1946. Mr. Dardeen also served in the US Air Force during the Korean War as a 1st Lieutenant with the 33rd Fighter Squadron, 3rd fighter wing from 1949-1954. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 143, Warwick and the VFW, Mount Carmel, IL. He is survived by his children, Pamela Hunter and her husband Robert, Paula Hunter and her husband Donald and Barbara Dardeen all of Warwick. He was the grampy of Donald, Laura, David, Cody, Jared and Bobby and the great-grampy of Kelsey, Tyler, Trent and Ciara. Robert was the brother of Wilford Dardeen of Providence and the late Helen Peterson. His funeral service will be held on Monday at 12:00 noon in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
