ROBERT J. CARROLL

Robert J. Carroll ( Ret. Lt., C.P.D. ), 65, of Clarion St., Cranston died on Tuesday January 15, 2008 at R.I. Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of Dolores DiMeo-Duffy. He was born in Providence a son of the late Joseph and Mary ( Maynard ) Carroll. Mr. Carroll was employed by the Cranston Police Dept. for 24 years, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant. He was a past president and member of the IBOP #301, very active with the CPDRA , an avid outdoorsman, very active in Cranston community affairs and activities and a communicant of St. Ann's Church. Besides his wife he is survived by his children; Dianne Bertrand of Coventry, Kathleen Carroll of Warwick, Scott Carroll of Glocester and Soyna Carroll of Cranston. He was the father of the late Joseph A. Carroll II. He was the grandfather of Thomas and Rebecca Carroll and Nicole Bertrand. He was the brother of Jeanne Serpa of Narragansett, Nancy Carroll-Cole of Cranston and Juliana Carroll of Plainville, MA. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Ann's Church, Cranston at 10:am. VISITING HOURS Friday 4-8pm. Burial will take place in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Association 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or to St. Ann's Church Renovation Fund 1493 Cranston St., Cranston, RI 02920.
