EAST GREENWICH – 96, formerly of Johnston, died Sunday May 7, 2023 after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. Born in Providence to Roberto Aspri and Maria (Spinelli) Aspri. Former husband of the late Carole (Barnes) Aspry. Long-time companion of the late Victoria Caminsky. Devoted father of James Robert Aspry of Cranston, and Dr. Karen Aspry (Mark Guill) of East Greenwich. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Harry and sisters Jennie and Anita Aspry and Anna Filippone and Palma Zinno. His passing marks the end of a long family era.
Bob was a WW II Veteran who trained in the Army Air Forces. He was owner and operator of an automotive business with the Atlantic Ritchfield Company for most of his career, happily serving customers from all walks of life. Despite no formal training, he had remarkable engineering talents, and gave generously to design, build and repair anything for his large circle of family, friends, and neighbors. He enjoyed family gatherings, landscaping his lush yard, playing cards, traveling, and his beloved Bichon Benji, who earned his own apron from Home Depot. He will be forever missed.
