RITA (DI PIETRO) SIMONELLI

92, of Cranston passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 3, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Simonelli. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Santo and Antonetta (Lanna) DiPietro. She was a graduate of Central High School. Rita was a bookkeeper and office manager for many years for B.B. Greenberg Company and Hedison Manufacturing Company both in Providence before her retirement. She is survived by her loving children, Jean Giarrusso and her husband Alex of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Lorraine Iafrate and her husband Donald of Johnston, and Sandra Bernardo and her companion Anthony Cimaglia of Johnston. She was the cherished grandmother of Annette Maggiacomo, Anthony and Peter Giarrusso, and Brian and Michael Iafrate and the great-grandmother of ten. Rita was the sister of Gemma Dean, Elena Gemma, both of Cranston and the late Eligio, Oswaldo, and Alfio DiPietro. Rita is survived by her only living sister-in-law Mary DiPietro of Providence, and was the companion of the late Ray Zito. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 538 Broadway, Providence.
