RITA RACHEAL (DENARDO) SALAFIA

Rita Racheal (Denardo) Salafia, 84, of Seaside Dr. Jamestown, RI died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 12, 2008. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Olympia "Molly" ( Fornaro ) Denardo. She was the wife of James Salafia for 59 years. She is also survived by her three sons, James Jr. and his wife Anne of St. Croix, USVI; Michael and his wife Karen Salvatore and their boys Michael Jr. and James Vincent of Saunderstown, RI; Robert and his wife Pamela and their daughter Maya of Arlington, MA; her two sisters, Barbara Ciano and her husband Arthur of Jamestown and Beatrice Macioci and her husband John of Fitchburg, MA, and seven nieces and nephews. Rita was the valedictorian of her Class at St. Patrick's High School, and of her Class at Katherine Gibbs School. She was a docent at the RISD Museum for many years. She and Jim were founding members of Alpine Country Club. They were an avid golfing couple, and were members of Wanumetonomy Country Club for 25 years. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at 9am from the Nardolillo Funeral Home SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL 1111 Boston Neck Rd. ( Rt 1A ) Narragansett followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mark's Church, Narragansett Ave., Jamestown at 11:am. Burial will take place in St. Mark's Cemetery, Jamestown.
