Rita Ann (Walaska) DeFusco

95, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Stillwater Nursing, Greenville. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank D. DeFusco for 56 years and is now reunited with the love of her life. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Adam and Malvina (Skamaraka) Walaska.

Rita worked her entire career with Fleet National Bank before retiring. She was a devoted Catholic and a longtime communicant of Holy Ghost Church in Providence. She was also an active member of the Cranston Senior Center for many years.

Rita is survived by her loving children, Theresa Andrade and her late husband Edward of West Warwick, Pat DeFusco and his wife Paula of Charlestown, and Lawrence DeFusco and his wife Paula of Johnston; cherished grandchildren, Tracy DeFusco, Mark Andrade, Lori Andrade and her former husband Matt Kachanis; great-granddaughter Isabella. She was the dear sister of the late Jennie Pelosi, John Walaska, Amelia Meglio, Eva Sylvestri, Helen Durante, Stacia Pollock, Chester Walaska, Peter Walaska, Caroline Major and Stella Giordano.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday, December 20th at 10:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Holy Ghost Church, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on Tuesday morning from 9:00 – 10:00 am.
