85, of Hope Valley, RI died Sunday December 2nd at the Heatherwood Nursing Home in Newport, RI. Born in Cranston, he later lived and had his own business on Martha’s Vineyard; then spent many years on Block Island where he worked at the Harborside Hotel. In his later life he retired as a “Gentleman Farmer”, in a log cabin he built himself in Hope Valley. He was a gifted craftsman, avid fisherman and flew glider planes. Her had many friends, loved animals and had many tales to tell. He lived life his way.
His parents were Henry and Mary (Sullivan) Sheridan; a brother, John Sheridan of North Kingstown (deceased), a sister, Dorothy McBride also of North Kingstown (deceased). He leaves one sister, Patricia Sheridan of Warwick and one nephew, Stephen McBride of North Kingstown. He will be buried next to his brother, John, in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter, RI.
His funeral service will be held on Monday, December 10 at 12:00 noon in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory-SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Rd. (Rt. 1A), Narragansett, RI. VISITING HOURS will be Monday morning from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
