Richard D. Ruggieri, Sr

68, of Foster, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Evelyn (Knight) Ruggieri . They were married for the past 47 years. Richard was born in Providence, a son of the late Domenic and Janet (Engley) Ruggieri. Mr. Ruggieri was in the Radio broadcasting industry for many years until his retirement. Besides his beloved wife he is survived by his loving children, Michelle Bashaw and her husband John of GA and Richard D. Ruggieri, Jr. and his wife Lynn of Hope Valley. He was also the cherished grandfather of 7 and dear brother of Ronald Ruggieri of Providence, Robert Ruggieri of ME, Adrienne Zampini of Providence, Steven Ruggieri of Scituate, Rita Covill of Coventry, Michael Ruggieri of West Warwick, John Ruggieri of Narragansett; and was the brother of the late Raymond Ruggieri. His funeral will be held on Monday at 9 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Matthew's Church, Cranston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Sunday 4-7 pm.
