RICHARD LISI, SR

85, of Providence, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2010, at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the loving husband of Stella R. (Torti) Lisi. They were married for sixty-three years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late James and Lena (Bissott) Lisi. Mr. Lisi was a heating technician for the former Warren Oil Company for many years before retiring in 1990. Richard was a former member of Union Local # 251. He was a veteran of both WW II and Korean Wars serving proudly in the US Marine Corps. Richard was well known by many people for his great sense of humor. He lived a simple life and loved his flowers, peach trees, but most importantly his family. Besides his wife, he was the proud father of Maryann E. Friden and her friend Frank Caduto of Warwick, Rosemary P. Trant and her husband Charles of Providence, Rita L. Casinelli and her husband Alfred of Providence, and Richard Lisi Jr. and his wife Velia of Cranston. He was the cherished grandfather of seven and the great-grandfather of one great-granddaughter. He was the brother of Arthur Lisi of Cranston, Ernest Lisi of FL and the late Edward Lisi, Florence Martel, and James Lisi. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 538 Broadway, Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS Monday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142. Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
