RICHARD IZZO

71, of Cranston, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of twenty-six years to Nancy E. (Ruzzo) Izzo. Born in Johnston, he was a son of Lena (Parrillo) Izzo of Johnston, and the late Pasquale Izzo. Mr. Izzo was a precious metal separator for his families business, Metal Recycling Inc. of Johnston for fifty-seven years before retiring in 2009.

Besides his wife and mother he is survived by his children Andrea Izzo of Providence, Joi Izzo of Johnston, Anthony Santurri of East Greenwich, Richard Santurri of Centerdale, Joseph Santurri of Coventry and the late Michael Santurri. He was the cherished grandfather of Stephanie Rioles, Michael, Leah, Brandon, Sara, and Lexi Santurri. He was the brother of Pasco Izzo, Phyllis Meloni, and Ann Marie Cherella, all of Johnston.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston.
