69, of Narragansett, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at South County Hospital in Wakefield surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Janet (Canna) Beauvais.
Born in Providence he was the son of the late Richard L. and Eleanor (Guarniero) Beauvais, Sr. He graduated from Cranston High School East, Class of 1962 and received a B.S. degree from Clemson University. Richard worked as a science teacher for the Cranston School Department for 40 years. He was an active member of the Cranston Teacher Alliance serving as treasurer for 25 years. He was also the owner and operator of the former Seafood Shack, Ocean Road, Narragansett. He enjoyed cooking, gardening and traveling with his family.
Besides his wife he was the devoted father of Sherri, Matthew, and Brian Beauvais and the late Richard L. Beauvais, III, MD; loving grandfather of Jaison; dear brother of Elaine Apici, Patricia Anderson and Denise Beauvais.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. from the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL 1111 Boston Neck Road, (Rt1A) Narragansett, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Star of the Sea Church, 864 Pt. Judith Rd. Narragansett at 10 a.m.
Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Wakefield. Visiting hours are Monday from 4 p.m. to 8p.m.
