Rhea E. (Paige) Turner

94, of Providence, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Elmwood Health Center, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Turner. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Felisco (Johnson) Paige.

Rhea was baptized on Easter Sunday 1940 at Ebenezer Baptist Church and has remained a dedicated member for 82 years. She has served as a member of the Chancel Choir, Mass Choir, Samuel Paige Usher Board, Finance Committee, Adult Sunday School Class and as church secretary. Rhea also worked as an activities coordinator and gift shop manager for Bannister Nursing Care for many years before retiring.

She was the loving mother of Dianne M. Becton of Providence and the late Marsha D. Foster, R.N.; grandmother of Krysti M. Becton and the late Dacia Leigh Foster; great-grandmother of Leneth Fisher, Sr., Kiree Becton and Princeton Blyden; great-great-grandmother of Leneth Fisher, Jr. She was the dear sister of Mildred Pearl Baham and the late Joyce, Donald and Frederick Paige.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Saturday, October 15th at 10:00am in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 475 Cranston St., Providence. VISITING HOURS will be held in church before her service from 9:00 – 10:00 am. MASKS MUST BE WORN . Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Cranston.
