69, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Charlene (Michaud) McGowan. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John J. and Angelina B. (Colando) McGowan.
Raymond worked as a security guard at Rhode Island Hospital for the APG Security Company for many years before his retirement. He also was the owner of Hot Shot Pizza in Johnston and Cranston and worked as a general manager for KFC and Papa Gino’s.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving son Matthew R. McGowan and his wife Heather of Warwick, cherished granddaughter Anneliese McGowan who he enjoyed going on adventures with and teaching her something new whenever she visited, and dear brothers William J. McGowan and his wife Donna of East Greenwich and Stephen R. McGowan and his wife Pam of Corinth, Mississippi. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Rocco’s Church, Johnston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are Sunday from 4 - 8 p.m.
