RAYMOND W. MAHONEY, 85, of Vinton Ave., Cranston, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2008, at Cedar Crest Nursing Centre in Cranston. He was the beloved husband for 65 years of Anna G. (Sinapi) Mahoney.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Thomas C. and Louise (Arnold) Mahoney, he was a lifelong Cranston resident.
Mr. Mahoney worked for the U.S. Government as a fireman at the former Quonset Point Naval Air Station in North Kingstown for many years, retiring in 1981. He was a WW-II U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Cranston.
Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of Will T. Mahoney of Cranston, Louise A. Chauvette of Chepachet and Thomas C. Mahoney of Lincoln; loving grandfather of 8; loving great-grandfather of 13; and dear brother of Charles T. Mahoney of Cranston.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston Wednesday at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Immaculate Conception Church, Oaklawn Ave., Cranston at 10 a.m.
Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
