97, of Cranston, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021 at the RI Veterans Home Community Living Center in Bristol. For 65 years he was the beloved husband of the late Jean L. (Melone) Lambert. Born in Providence, Raymond was a son of the late Valmore P. and Olivine (Aubin) Lambert. He was a Dispatcher and then Safety Director at Paul Arpin Van Lines for 29 years, before retiring in 1994. Raymond was a Navy Veteran serving during WWII.
Ray was quite the handyman with an innate ability to fix just about anything, except those newfangled computers. His passions were his family and yard, but a daily vodka & tonic came a close third. In his later years Ray and Jean traveled extensively in the US and Europe. Ray was soft spoken with a quick, dry wit that was rumored to often have the veteran’s home staff in stiches. Ray’s gentle soul was admired by those privileged to have met him. With his passing it will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his two loving children, Michael R. Lambert and his wife Kathy of Randolph, NJ, and Lynne L. Kasyan and her husband Joseph of Saunderstown. Raymond was the cherished grandfather of Tim Lambert of Buffalo, NY, and Dan Lambert of Austin, TX. He was the dear brother of Cecile Fielding of Warwick, Claire Vanasse ofRichmond, and the late Oswald Joseph "Buddy" Lambert, Arthur Lambert, Rev. Norman Lambert, Irene Boisvert, Gerard Lambert, and Eveline Desrosiers.
His funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Cranston at 11 a.m. Burial, with Military Honors, will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are on Tuesday MORNING from 9-10 a.m.
