77, of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of fifty-three years to Gloria (DiChiaro) DelGreco. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Edward and Elvira (Martini) DelGreco. Ray was the owner of the former Del's Auto of Providence for over forty years before his retirement. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War era. Ray was a devoted husband and a wonderful father and grandfather. Some of his favorite pastimes included gardening and cooking. He was an avid cook and his recipes were enjoyed by all. His four granddaughters were the joys of his life.
Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Raymond DelGreco, Jr., and his wife Deborah of Johnston, John E. DelGreco and his wife Deborah of North Kingstown, and Gail DelGreco and son-in-law Anthony DeRensis of Johnston. Ray was the cherished Papa of Giana, Nicole, Carissa, and Jessica. He was the brother of Lillian Norigian of Warwick, Robert DelGreco of North Scituate, and the late Edward DelGreco. Ray is also survived by his grand kitties, Abbi, PJ, and Brady.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Rocco's Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Military Honors will follow. Interment will be private.
