Raymond E. Gemma

74, of Johnston, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 23, 2023.  He was the beloved husband of Elisa A. (Falco) Gemma for 52 years.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Americo and Margaret (Martinelli) Gemma.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving daughter Sherry McKenna and her husband Daniel, and his brother Ralph Gemma.  He was the brother of the late Ronald Gemma and Diane Paglia.  He also leaves behind his four-legged best buddy, Jacoby.

Raymond was a United States Army Green Beret serving during the Vietnam War. Ray was recognized for his craftsmanship in the building industry as a skilled architect and builder. He crafted countless luxury custom homes, along with commercial buildings throughout Rhode Island. Ray loved mountain climbing in New Hampshire, hiking, and camping. He shared his love for the outdoors and was always up for an adventure whether it was white water rafting or going sky diving with his daughter. He will be remembered for his genuine smile, his big heart, and his love for his family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 1st at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Johnston followed by the family receiving line at the conclusion of Mass.  Burial will be private.
